BIOMIMETIC Tehcnology is design and technology inspired by nature.

Dunlop combines the natural evolutionary developments over millions of years with top technology and the materials of the modern world.

Three biomimetric elements are used in the racket construction:

1. The unique "shark skin" inspires the racket surface
- the structure avoids small local turbulences
- the air flow slides gently over the racket surface
- the air resistance is reduced by up to 25%
-> better racket speed for more power

2. The "honeycomb" is used as basis for the material structure
- ultra high modulus carbon fibres worked in a hexagonal structure
- placed between aerogel/ graphite layers
- the force created by the ball contact is spread evenly through the HM6 Carbon
- cushions unwanted racket vibration by up to 10%

3. The grip band structure is inspired by the gecko’s feet
- unique surface treatment
- perforated structure for extra moisture reduction
- offers up to 50% more grip and adhesion

Dunlop Biomimetic Squashrackets 2011 !

Nieuw in squash is het eigentijdse woord ‘biomimetic'. Afgeleid van bio (leven) en mimetic (imitatie) en het staat voor de wetenschappelijke ontwikkelingen die gebaseerd zijn op de natuur.

Bij Dunlop betekent het dat zij een materie ontwikkelden gebaseerd op de achthoekige honingraatstructuur van de bij. Tussen de lagen vindt je ook het hoogtechnologische ‘Aerogel'. Het resultaat: een verhoogde trilabsorptie, dit dankzij de HM6 Carbon platen in het hart van het racket
Ze hebben ook hun inspiratie verworven bij de huid van een haai. Het vooruitstrevende ‘Aeroskin' is op strategische punten van het racket toegevoegd en zorgt voor een betere aerodynamica waardoor je een racketversnelling krijgt die meer power voortbrengt, zonder daar aan controle te verliezen.

Het blijft echter niet enkel bij het frame van het racket, ook de grip van het racket is aanzienlijk voorzien van ‘biomimetics'. Inspiratiebron was hiervoor de Gekko, dit reptiel is met zuignappen onder zijn pootjes geëvolueerd. Gekko-Tac is een grip die tacky aanvoelt en een goede controle geef in alle omstandigheden!

Zo zijn de bij, de haai en de gekko geïntegreerd in de Dunlop Biomimetics, de nieuwe squash collectie 2011 is vanaf eind juni 2011 als eerste in Nederland beschikbaar bij Squashwebwinkel.nl !
